We are
Bill & Julisa Rowe
Bill and Julisa Rowe are artist missionaries with Artists in Christian Testimony Int’l. Our passion is to see culturally appropriate drama, music and worship expressed in churches throughout the world. Julisa’s focus is on cross-cultural drama and Bill works in the area of music and worship.
Bill was born and raised in southern California. From a broken home, he found Christ after high school, through the witness of friends. He has a Bachelor’s in Trumpet Performance from Cal State Fullerton, and a Master of Church Music from Western Seminary. He has toured with the Continental Singers, in the orchestra and as an Assistant Director, and has played trumpet for ministries and general events throughout the US and Kenya. He has served churches as worship leader and planner, and taught worship and music for churches, Bible schools and university. He currently lives in Kenya where he trains youth in brass through national youth orchestras and is the principal trumpet for the Nairobi Orchestra. After teaching at Daystar University in the music department for 11 years, he now teaches choir, band and worship at Rosslyn Academy.
Julisa was born in Zimbabwe to missionary parents, and received Christ into her life as a young child. She has a BA at Westmont College in Theatre Arts and English, an MA in Intercultural Ministries and a Doctor of Missiology focused on Ethnodramatology from Western Seminary. She is an international consultant, trainer, performer and director, serving as the country director for ACT Kenya, and has performed in, and directed, dozens of plays for community, school and church groups, in the US, Kenya and worldwide. She is an academic as well, having several peer-reviewed articles on ethnodramatology and a book on dramatic reading to her name. She toured the United States professionally for 14 years with several original one-woman shows, both musical and dramatic. In Kenya, she has been seen on several local TV series and heads the drama ministries at Mamlaka Hill Chapel. Her latest drama efforts have focused on playback theatre and plays that further the discussion on mental health.
